"A Desperate Place" The book of Job is not one of my favorite books for a lot of reasons, but lately as I was looking at some of the trials of Job I saw some interesting truths I would like to share with you.
All of us in our walk with the Lord come to places we just don't understand, I have been there many times as have you I'm sure. Our understanding of God has been over turned our world turned topsy turvy and we come to realize that we would rather do anything, good things like our own personal "faith formulas" to make life work. We really hope deep down that God will never put us in a position when we have to trust only Him!
At times it seems God is hiding from us but actually He is keeping us from building a life without Him. See Isaiah, 45:15.
When we come to the end of ourselves. When all our "supposed right answers and right actions", are like shifting sand is when God is deeply at work in our hearts and lives. We come to a point of not trusting our formulas and intellect, but our trust is only in Him. So God is obliged to crumble our perfect little systems and theologies. We come to a point of desperation so we will learn to trust.
This is Job's story! God had something better in mind for Job. He repented of using his religious system to manipulate God into making everything right. All he had left was faith in God and everything else was gone. In Job 42:5 Job says, "My ears have heard of you but now my eyes have seen you". After seeing God he saw whatever needed to be taken care of would be taken care of. God is in control of every detail of His kids lives and that includes you! Be encouraged dear one, God is at work whether you see it or not.
